So here we are, it's April, and it's holiday time again! I bet you're all enjoying much-deserved long lies and playing outside later at night. I used to love the Easter holidays when I was teaching. Everyone needed the break after the long term from Christmas, and with sunny days around it fair brightened up our spirits.
We used to have an Easter Hat Parade as well as the usual egg-decorating competition before we finished school. I can remember some amazing creations, and the difficult job of choosing the ones to be given prizes. In fact I may well have a photo lurking in an old shoe-box somewhere which I'll look for and post.
What did you do this Easter?

I can't remember exactly when we last had such a fall of snow, but it must have been when I was teaching in Mosshead in Bearsden.
It fell overnight to a depth of at least ten inches, causing me and many others to try to make it to work on foot, wearing a very fashionable pair of snowboots.

I'm now more than half way through writing a full length story for 7-10 yearolds called Wee Kirky. This is a new venture for me, since I usually write much shorter stories. You'll find the first chapter on my website. Hope you enjoy it!
How are you all getting on with your writing? I'm hoping to see more and more of YOUR creations!! So why not get writing!!

How would you feel?
Over the last few days I've seen at least 6 new lambs. They've been cuddled close to their mums and must be VERY cold at nights. Imagine being born into the world when it's so cold? It's just as well that they're born with good warm fleecy coats. They certainly need them!
I think it would make a good story to imagine the first few hours of a new wee lamb's life. What do you think?
